Common labels include "FOR VERIFICATION ONLY," "COPY," or "CONFIDENTIAL." To further prevent misuse, you might include the current date or the name of the organization that requested the document. The goal is to make the purpose of the copy clear so it cannot be reused for other transactions.
Horizontal mode arranges the watermarks in a standard grid of straight rows and columns. Diagonal mode tilts the text at a 45-degree angle. While both are effective, diagonal patterns are generally harder to crop out or remove using basic editing tools.
A single watermark is placed in the center of the image, while the tiled option fills the entire document with repeating text. Tiling offers much better security, as it covers the entire document and makes it nearly impossible for someone to edit the watermark out without obscuring the information underneath.
Spacing controls the density of the tiled pattern. Lower percentages pack the text closer together for maximum coverage, while higher values spread the watermarks out. We recommend starting at 100% and adjusting the slider until the text protects the document without making the ID details unreadable.
If you are unsure, PNG is the safest choice for maintaining the legibility of your document.
