FAQ

How do I add a watermark to my ID card?

Drop your ID card image onto the upload zone, or click to pick a file. JPG, PNG, and WebP all work. After loading, you'll see the image with a preview watermark. Change the text, size, color, opacity, angle, direction, and pattern to match what you need. Hit the download button when it looks right.

What should my watermark say?

Most people use something like "CONFIDENTIAL", "COPY", or "FOR VERIFICATION ONLY". You can also put your name and the date, or the name of whoever requested the ID copy. The text should make clear why the ID was shared and discourage misuse.

What's the difference between Horizontal and Diagonal?

Horizontal places watermarks in straight rows and columns, like a grid. Diagonal runs them along 45-degree lines from corner to corner. Both work well—the diagonal look stands out more and is harder to crop out cleanly.

Single watermark or tiled pattern?

A single watermark sits in the center. Tiled fills the whole image with repeating text. Tiled patterns cover more ground and make it tough for someone to crop or edit out the watermark. If you're sending an ID for verification, tiled is usually the safer bet.

How does spacing work?

Spacing only applies to tiled patterns. Lower numbers pack the watermarks tighter—more coverage but they might block important info. Higher numbers spread them out. Start around 100% and adjust until you get the density you want.

What format should I download?

PNG keeps the best quality and handles transparency, but files get big. JPEG shrinks file size, good for email attachments. WebP splits the difference—decent quality at smaller sizes. If you're not sure, PNG is the safe choice.

Is my ID card safe?

Yes. The whole thing runs in your browser using canvas—your image never goes to a server, gets stored anywhere, or leaves your machine. Close the tab and it's gone. No accounts, no uploads, no tracking.
